Rationale
CAVE: currently under revision. Not metabolised in the liver. Several references refer to amiloride as safe in acute porphyrias. Occasional clinical experience of tolerance. Amiloride seems to be the drug of choice among potassium saving diuretics.

Pyrazincarbonyl guanidine derivative.

Potassium saving diuretic.
Metabolism and pharmacokinetics
Apparantly not metabolized; excreted in unchanged form in urine.
Preclinical data
No data pointing to CYP-induction.

Thunell, patient report (n=2): tolerated. Andersson, patient report (n=2): tolerated.
