Metabolised only to a limited extent. No data pointing to CYP-interaction. Two references consider the drug safe.
Chemical description
(To be edited, initial data ST OCT 04) Parenteral betalactamase stable cephalosporin used (1 g x 2) in various infections. Excreted in unchanged form (50-60 %), and as desacetyl derivative 15-25 %, by the kidneys within 24 hours. No data pointing to CYP interactions, South African list: use with caution. French list: safe.
