Chemical description
(To be edited, initial data ST OCT 04) Parenterally administered (up to 1 gx 2) betalactamase stable cephalosporin antibiotic used e.g in nosocomial pulmonary infections, respiratory tract infections in cystic fibrosis, urinary tract infections and acute meningitis. Not metabolized, excreted in unchanged form by the kidneys. No data pointing to CYP-interaction. South African list: use with caution. French list: use. Andersson: Occasionally used without any side effects.
