Hydroxylated by CYP2C9 (major enzyme) and 2C8. Inhibitor of CYP 2C9. Excreted as two metabolites. No data pointing to CYP-induction. South African list: use. French list: avoid. Uneventful use reported in 199 patients with acute porphyria.
