Rationale
Only limited metabolism. Probably insignificant CYP-interaction. Conflicting references
Chemical description
Quinolone antibiotic, 65-80 % eliminated in unchanged form by glomerular filtration and tubular excretion over 24-48 hours. Less than 5% is eliminated in urine as metabolites. Slight CYP1A2 inhibition in vivo. To be observed: May interfere with screening tests for porphyrins in urine due to overlaping fluorescence emission at 600 nm. South African list: use with extreme caution only. French list: use. Metabolic basis..ref 383: safe. See also: Schoenfelt and Mamet. In some cases, a more comprehensive list of available drug packages is included.
Consequently, very similar terms may therefore appear multiple times.
Bold names are the searchable terms, while the gray names that follow are all mapped to the bolded term.
