Important Information
Some interference with fluorimetric determination of urinary porphyrins reported.
Rationale
CYP3A4-inhibitor. Conflicting references but some clinical experience of non-porphyrinogenicity.
Chemical description
Quinolone antibiotic. Some metabolism takes place and several metabolites have been identified in urine. About 30% is excreted in urine in unchanged form within 24 hours, while the same amount is recovered in faeces. Inhibitor of CYP3A4.
