Probably insignificant systemic exposure.
Chemical description
A contact laxative that gives rise to free phenols in the colon, which inhibit water resorption. It is administered orally in a dose of 5–10 mg/day. There is no data on systemic absorption. Used in Swedish porphyria wards.
