Rationale
Sodium phosphate is a salt that is eliminated by the kidneys, with no hepatic involvement.
Chemical description
Sodium phosphate a salt of sodium and phosphoric acid.
Therapeutic characteristics
Sodium phosphate is an osmotically acting laxative. Concentrated oral solutions are used for bowel cleansing before surgery or endoscopy procedures. The oral solutions act within 30 minutes to 6 hours. Common adverse reactions of sodium phosphate that can be confused with an acute porphyric attack are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain.
Metabolism and pharmacokinetics
About two-thirds of ingested phosphate is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Excess phosphate is mainly excreted in the urine, the remainder being excreted in the faeces. No hepatic involvement.

Tradenames and packages
From some sources, we get a list of packages (United Kingdom, Ireland, Estonia).
Other sources contain more or less "clean" versions of the trade name (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Norway).
What you see here is the raw data we get from each country, so there will appear to be duplicates. The bold names
are the searchable terms. The gray names that follow are all mapped to the bolded term.
Note: The cleaning is done automatically by a proprietary algorithm, and it may produce errors.
We strive to improve it continuously.
