Rationale
Neuroleptic, frequently used in acute porphyria without any adverse effects. No indications of CYP-inducing effects. Several references state non-porphyrinogenicity. Since long recommended for use during acute porphyric crises.
Chemical description
High-dose neuroleptic phenothiazine with aliphatic side chain. Broad therapeutic spectrum including antipsychotic, sedative and antiemetic effects. Metabolized by CYP2D6.
