Probably Not Porphyrinogenic |
PNP |
Important information
May interfere with screening tests for porphyrins in urine due to overlap in fluorescence emission at 600 nm.
Rationale
Mainly excreted unmetabolized. No CYP-interactions.
Chemical description
S-enantiomer of ofloxacin. Quinolone antibiotic only metabolized to a very small extent (<5%) to desmethyllevofloxacin and levofloxacin N-oxide. No CYP-interactions observed.
